Australian dogs!

Well, I got my wish. Mum and dad have left for Australia - and I'm in charge of the whole house now! I have a houseguest, Annina, who comes over and sleeps. She also takes me out and feeds me, so some houseguest! My Gran - Kylli - also comes to visit, so it's never a dull life.

Dad sent me this picture this week - some dog substitute this is. Strange place, Australia, if this is what dogs look like.

Spring is really here now!

So, this is a lovely weekend - and I get to chase sticks instead of snowballs. Six weeks ago we were walking across this water - hard to believe but true!

Today is Mother's day and I am trying very hard to be excellent for my Mum. This morning my brother (Henrik) and I made her breakfast in bed and now I am relaxing after all that stress and hard work!

Mum and dad have a BIG trip planned - for Australia. I wonder if I'm going with them and if I will enjoy chasing rabbits there? Somehow I think I'd prefer to stay here and guard the house, so let's see...

Sunday breakfast

Sunday mornings are always the same - every Sunday I have to struggle with Mum to see who gets the Kallen Mättitahnaa, every time Mum gets it first and Dad never even tries... weird bunch. Dad has been "having a little trouble" with his computer so no posts for the last couple of weeks - now back to normal. He keeps grumbling about Christians and Buffaloes - some sort of pagan ritual?

Last weekend was Anzac day and someone forgot the flag. This weekend is Vappu - lots of flags and drunk people :)

Happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday - I'm 5 real years old - 35 dog years - Now I'm definately old enough to decide what to smell, what to eat, and what to chase!

The downside

I always forget - the downside to mud!

Spring is in the air

and in my legs - you should see how high I can jump!

So, now spring is here and the snow is almost gone - replaced with glorious mud!

But there are still snowballs if you know where to look. This morning I took Mum and Dad to one of my favourite snowball places - and guess what?

No walk is complete without a bottle, tinny or juice box - today I found a paper cup and a juice box!

Almost summer

As a Finnish dog (well, Estonian born, but Finnish nationality since I was 6 weeks old) - I know when winter is over - and today summer is clearly almost here. Great that there's still snow around though...

After today's walk, Mum and Dad went off into the small wooden box where it is hotter than summer! No idea why they like it - for me the only benefit of that place is as somewhere useful to hide when there are fireworks around!

Anyway, they keep coming out, interrupting my sleep and insisting on photos - and don't be fooled, there's no alcohol in these kuksas

Sunday 1st March

I love Sunday walks - and by popular request (from my Sister, Eve), here is a short video of me and Mum in one of my favourite games!

The main idea with this game is for me to keep the stick and for Mum and Dad to run around hopelessly looking stupid!

My new friend Bertta

Bertta is amazing! I know sometimes I try to carry sticks that are a bit on the challenging side - but she wants to carry a whole tree!

Saturday Morning, Valentine's day. Mum popped out of bed and I took her place, I don't think Dad noticed!

Oscu visited me today

This week has been just one big event for me! Tonight I had another visitor come to eat - Oscu (He's the one on the right).
I made us lamb for dinner, which is a co-incidence as my Mum and Dad also served lamb for Oscu's Mum and Dad - Aija and Tom.

A lovely evening was had by all (except the lambs - they probably didn't like being eaten very much).

This evening she came around for dinner and a chat - we had a great time, discussing the latest episodes of Salamat Elamat and her plans for the weekend.

Alma's Mum and Dad are in Vienna today - coming back this evening. Have to dash now, the kettle's boiling

Kylli is my Grandmother and I love visiting her place. Nice and safe and warm and lots to eat. Everyone seems to complain of overeating when we visit Kylli but I don't see anyone leaving any food for me!
